| Leah Weeks, a pediatric nurse practitioner, is a native of Sanford. Leah attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a BS degree in Nursing in 2001.
After graduating from college, she began working as an RN at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.

There she worked for over four years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She then went on to work at UNC Hospitals for two years in the Newborn Critical Care Unit before deciding to return to graduate school.
Leah completed her graduate studies at Duke University. She graduated in 2007 with a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in pediatric primary care. Leah recently joined The Family Doc in 2008.
Leah has always enjoyed working in pediatrics. She feels pediatrics is rewarding, as you not only get to watch children grow and develop, but also get to know the entire family. Some of her special interests include child development, asthma, and ADHD.
Leah is a member of the NC and National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). In her free time she enjoys shopping, reading, and traveling when possible.
