We understand that billing procedures can sometimes be confusing; therefore The Family Doc provides professionally-trained financial counselors that are available to provide you with information about financial assistance.
Patient Financial Responsibilites
Patients who do not have insurance coverage, are unable to provide The Family Doc with adequate insurance information or who wish to file their own insurance claims must pay The Family Doc in full at the time services are provided or make satisfactory arrangements for payment. 40% discounts are given to all self-paying patients at time of service when visit is paid in full.
Patients with health insurance coverage will be expected to pay any copays, deductibles, co-insurance or any other patient portion at the time services are provided, or make satisfactory arrangements for payment. All requests for payment are estimated amounts due. Any additional remaining balance will be billed to you and is due upon receipt of the statement from The Family Doc.
If you are unable to pay your balance by the due date, please contact the Billing Office at (919)776-3750 to discuss a workable solution.
You are responsible for paying your portion of the balance whenever you are billed whether or not your insurance company has paid its portion of the balance. The fact that the insurance has not paid its portion of the balance does not relieve the patient of his/her obligation to pay his/her share. We encourage you to follow up with your insurance company if it has not paid.

We realize that many services provided to you by The Family Doc may result in unexpected expenses for you Therefore we want to give you as many payment options as possible:

- Check/ Money Order
- Credit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Americian Express
- Care Credit
The Family Doc has other options that we can discuss with you, such as Government Assisted Programs and our Financial Aid Program. Assistance is based on financial need, and we will make every attempt to provide you with payment solutions to fit your circumstances.
